Fernando Lugo: el nuevo presidente de Paraguay

Según el escrutinio, ganó con el 40% de los votos, lo siguió Blanca Obelar del partido colorado con el 30% de los votos. En tercer lugar con el 20% de los votos se ubicó el general retirado, Oviedo. Los candidatos vencidos reconocieron la victoria de Lugo.
Estas elecciones fueron históricas ya que después de 61 años, el partido colorado deja de gobernar la presidencia.
Fernando Lugo, que renuncio al cargo de obispo, asumirá el 15 de agosto. Después de enterarse de los resultados transmitió un mensaje diciendo que hay que mantenerse alertas, atentos y alegres.

I really like the articles you post. They are very helpful, they are not only interesting, but they also help me practice my Spanish. Even though I don’t understand some of what is written, it helps me a lot to see the words that I’ve learned in my Spanish class used in sentences.
